A group of 40 students from Years 10 and 12 had a wonderful time in France from 16 to 20 March 2015 as we visited our partner school, Lycée Flaubert, in Rouen, Normandy.

As well as building on friendships forged during the French visit to Hexham in November, our students gained a valuable insight into French life by staying with host families and attending school.

In addition, a varied programme of visits to Paris, Honfleur, a goat farm in Etretat, La Bouille and, of course, Rouen itself allowed the students to experience the very best of northern France.

The students who are studying French at GCSE and A-level were able to use their language skills and develop their understanding and vocabulary.

Mr Harbron, Mr Mullins, Ms Hawkins and Mr Olsen were very proud of the way in which our students took advantage of the week to fully engage with both the French culture and language and a special thanks goes out to Élodie Faber and the students and families of Lycée Flaubert.
