QEHS are working together with West Northumberland Food Bank to help combat the growing problem of food poverty. West Northumberland Food Bank are a network of local volunteers and organisations who collect tinned and dried food that has been donated by local people. The collected food is then distributed to people who are in food poverty within Hexham and local areas. Further information about the work that the West Northumberland Food Bank does in the local community is available on their website and their yearly report.

This year's event has been promoted to QEHS students during assemblies by Mr Brown last week and will be running until Monday 22 October 2018.

An inter-tutor competition is running for students in Years 9, 10 and 11. Items/bags/boxes of donations should be clearly labelled with the students tutor group name and be handed into the tutor during registration time. Sixth Form students can hand their items/bags/boxes to Mr Wilson in the Pastoral Office. Donations will be delivered to West Northumberland Food Bank before October half term.

We thank you in anticipation for your support and look forward to receiving your donations.

Thanks for your continued support with our charitable work.
