Our Year 10 students have been excited to receive early Christmas presents from their exchange partners in Germany.

The 28 Steinhagener Gymnasium students also sent a Christmas video greeting and are very much looking forward to meeting their partners from QEHS in March. Frohe Weihnachten!

On Tuesday 1 December 2015, a group of Year 13 History and Economics students travelled down to London to visit the capital for 4 days. Their stay consisted of visits to places of both historical and economic interest and included:

  • Meeting with Chief Economist of RBS, and former QEHS student, Ross Walker.
  • Visiting the Bank of England and the Cabinet War Rooms.
  • Visiting the Imperial War Museum and the Tate Modern.

The International Christmas Card competition is open to all year groups. If you are creative, interested in languages or simply love Christmas, why not design your own card in a foreign language of your choice. There will be prizes for the best entries. The competition is open until Friday 11 December 2015 and any submissions should be taken to a languages teacher or handed in at the Languages Office (F5).

The Year 9 Christmas Vocabulary competition is a chance for you to learn festive vocabulary and win points for your tutor group. Help your tutor group to win a group prize from your pastoral leader by learning the spellings of each word for a competition to be held in your last lesson before Christmas. The competition is running in French, German, Spanish and Latin!

QEHS Human Rights group are collecting hats, scarves, gloves, toiletries, men's clothes as well as tinned and packeted food for West End Refugee Project, between now and the last week of term. If you can spare any of these items please ask your child to place bags in the marked boxes in the foyer of the lower school.

In previous years the project has been hugely grateful for our donations. Members of the Human Rights Group have been able to personally deliver a van full each time, which has without doubt made a difference to those desperately in need.

Important information from QEHS and Northumberland County Council for Parents/Carers regarding adverse weather conditions is now available.
