If you have any of the following, your donations will help those who have nothing: waterproof jackets, hats, scarves, gloves, men’s shoes, toiletries and sanitary pads. Additionally chocolate of any description to give as a Christmas gift.

Please put your donations in a plastic bag and place in the boxes in the foyer.

Big thanks,

QEHS Human Rights Group

Before October Half Term QEHS students and staff were working with the West Northumberland Food Bank to raise donations to help people in food poverty. Congratulations to 9-HMP who won the Inter-Tutor competition for raising the most donations in the school. Both the students and Ms Pringle enjoyed the reward of a breakfast morning last Friday in the Year 9 café. Thank you to all those who have contributed to the food bank this year.

The exam timetables for January 2017 exams and also Year 13 mock exams are now available; please see the Exams page for more information.

If students sat GCSEs or A Level exams in summer 2016, the certificates are now ready for collection from the Exams Office. Please call in at break time or lunchtime to collect these important documents; students will need these certificates in the future when applying for higher/further education or jobs. Please ensure they are collected by 31 January 2017.

This week we are happy to welcome visitors from our partner school, Lycée Flaubert in Rouen, as part of the annual French Exchange. 36 students from Year 10 and Year 12 are hosting their exchange partners for a week in hope of making new friends and developing their understanding of the French language and culture.

We have now published our Sixth Form prospectus for 2017 entry (click picture above for a link to the electronic version). We have over 30 A Level and vocational courses available and our basic entry requirement is 5 A*-C (or 4+) grades at GCSE including English Language. Our Sixth Form is one of the best in the North-East and we have a range of events taking place throughout 2016 and 2017 to help students decide which courses they wish to study, including an open evening, taster days and 1:1 guidance interviews.

If you are not currently in Year 11 at QEHS and wish to join our Sixth Form, please download our prospectus and register an interest with Emily Webb (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). We strongly advise you to attend our Open Evening on Tuesday 15 November 2016 but external students should contact Emily in advance so that we can register your interest and help you make the most of the evening.

Resit forms are available from outside of the exams office and can also be downloaded from the Exams page. Completed forms must be returned, with payment, to the exams office no later than lunchtime on 2 December 2016.

Please note that information on resit exam fees is available from the exams office during break or lunchtime only.
