GCSE Results bring Another Record

For the second year running QEHS students have achieved record results in GCSE and equivalent qualifications. Over 74% of students gained 5 or more A*-C grades including English and maths, beating last year's record by 2%. The proportion of entries gaining A* or A grades was also high, beating national averages with 18 students gaining at least 6 A* grades.

The school has been congratulated by senior education officers of Northumberland Council for becoming the highest performing school in the county.

A Level Success Continues

August brought another year of excellent achievement for QEHS sixth formers. Well over half of all 'A' level grades were A*, A or B with around 20 students gaining straight A*/As. Point scores per student and per entry were also higher for the second year running reaching levels well above national averages.

This success meant in the region of 180 QEHS students being able to progress to universities across the United Kingdom including Oxford and Cambridge.
