QEHS and King Edward VI, Morpeth, played a hard, competitive and exciting Under 18 Northumberland Schools final at the home of the Newcastle Falcons. The match was a great advert for this tough collision sport with commitment, skill and enthusiasm evident from the players on both sides. KEVI had progressed to the final with a fine 10-7 semi-final win over Dame Allan's, Newcastle, whilst QE had enjoyed a convincing 39-8 victory at the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle.

For Years 11, 12 and 13
To be held at Ponteland High School
Monday 29 February 2016 (6:00pm to 8:00pm)

There will be an Apprenticeship Information Event, specifically organised for students of Prudhoe Community High School, Queen Elizabeth High School and Ponteland High School.

If you are considering an apprenticeship when you leave school or simply want to find out exactly what the apprenticeship route into employment can offer you, we have a broad range of employers and training providers available to tell you more about their specific opportunities.

The event will commence at 6:00pm with a short general presentation on Apprenticeships at all levels. You will then be free to talk to employers and training providers, attend specific presentations on careers of interest to you, and find out how to apply for current vacancies.

We take the security of your children on the internet extremely seriously; it is very important that we work together to ensure your their safety. Whilst use of the internet and social networking sites is second nature to young people, they can often be swept along with what their peers are doing and lack an awareness of the many risks they are facing.

Research has shown that up to 80% of internet use will take place outside of the school environment on a range of devices. With this in mind, I would ask that you take the time to respond to our 2016 Parental e-Safety survey by using the link below:

Thank you to all the parents/carers who attended the Year 9 Parents' Information Evening on Tuesday 23 February 2016 . The overview presentation given by Mr Byers is available below as a PDF document:
