  • Youth Volunteering Opportunities:
    Children North East are developing a new project in Tynedale, Youth Link, which will have opportunities for young people to get involved with volunteering. There is a day arranged for 31st May for Young People to get together at Derwent Manor to be involved in the planning and development of the project, transport from Hexham can be provided. Any young people interested, or who want to find out any more about getting involved ring Jay Casson on 01434 609088.
  • SORTED
    Have you got a question or concern about alcohol and/or drug use? SORTED are a service available for Young People in Northumberland who have any questions, queries or concerns about their own or someone else’s alcohol or drug use. SORTED can be contacted on Freephone 0800 633 5872 and at www.sortednorth.co.uk Further information or advice about the services SORTED offer can be found at the Health Project or at the Youth Office, D20.

REMINDERS
  • Mobile Phone Found
    A mobile phone was found in the car park at the entrance to the lower school building on Tuesday evening. If you think this phone could be yours please collect it from the general office.
  • Tynedale Volleyball Club
    are starting an outdoor club on Saturday mornings 10.30 – 11.30 a.m. No previous experience needed, all ages welcome. £2 per week. See the posters in the PE corridor for further information.
  • Learning Resource Centre – Opening Hours During Half Term
    Monday 26th May – Closed
    Tuesday 27th to Thursday 29th May – 9am to 1pm
    Friday 30th May – Closed
  • ICT Equipment
    Would all students please note that they should not move ICT equipment i.e. if there is a mouse not working, use a different machine and tell your teacher so that they can report it to the technician.

    The Health Project today will be a limited session, the nurses will be available 12.30 - 2.00. Christine from Sorted will be available for people to drop in and speak with during their lunch break. If you would like any further information contact Catherine Coats in the Youth Office - D20.

  • Anaphylaxis Campaign - Youth/Parent Workshop Durham
    An interactive workshop for 20 young people (aged between 11 and 18 yrs) with severe food allergy, plus a workshop for their parents, guardians or carers. Saturday 24th May 2008 10.30am – 4.30pm. Venue in Durham to be confirmed. The workshop is free, although donations are always gratefully received. The Campaign relies on charitable trusts, foundations and individuals to fund these workshops. The aim is to help both parents and their allergic children, who are growing in independence, assess and manage the risks associated with living with food allergy. Preparing for “letting go” and handing over responsibility to the allergic youngster. The opportunity to meet others in a similar situation.
    Throughout the informal day there will be much discussion, sharing of experiences and a refresher on EpiPen and Anapen use.
