Friday 29th September (Week 2)

NEW NOTICES:
  • Learning Resource Centre. Please note that the LRC will be closed period 5 on Friday 29th September. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
REMINDERS:
  • Manga and Anime Club (man-ga and a-nee-may). For fans of the Japanese art style. Come and join for fun activities, discussions and prizes as well as possible outings! Meet at the LRC, Wednesday lunchtimes at the green chairs.


  • There will be a choir rehearsal at 3.30 in the lower school hall today. Starting new music, so everyone welcome!

  • There will be an orchestra rehearsal on Monday at 3.30 in the winter gardens.

  • Anyone else interested in taking Grade 5 music theory lessons, please come to the music department at 12.35 (1st lunch) or 1.35 (2nd lunch).

  • Mountain Biking. Anyone interested in a mountain bike ride on Saturday 11th October, please come to a meeting today at break in A18 or see Mrs Gill. Everyone welcome.

  • Lost A black Nike wallet with four keys on the zip – one key with a red handle on it. If found, please hand into the Year 10 office.

  • Peer Support Are you a good listener who doesn’t judge other people? If so, we would love you to come along and find out more about training to be a peer supporter. Informal meetings will take place on Monday 2nd October at 1.45 p.m. for first lunch students and Thursday 5th October at 12.45 p.m. for second lunch students in the Peer Support room at the Health Drop In. The Peer Support room is behind the Hydro, under the archway. Watch out for the signs. Kate, Kerry and Joan.


  • Mountain Biking Club will start tonight. Limited numbers, please sign up on the form in the P.E. corridor. For further information, please speak to Mr Gaines. You will need your own bike and helmet.
  • Tesco Sport Vouchers for Schools. Please hand in any vouchers to the LRC. Thank you. PE Dept.
  • DEADLINE FOR AS/A2 RESITS is

    Any late applications will incur an extra fee.

Monday 25th September (Week 2)

REMINDERS:

  • School Fantasy Football League
    Think you can do better than Sven, Fergusson, Southgate, Glenn Roeder?  Then sign up to the school fantasy football before the end of September.  Just take £3.50 to Mrs Stott in the lower school office - take the receipt she gives you to Mr Williams in the LRC at break or lunch. Register online and then pick your squad.
    Free football, too.


  • BMAT
    Students wishing to sit BMAT test should have their entry in by TODAY.


  • Badminton Club
    Every Monday after school 3.30 – 5.30 in the sports hall.  Students of all standards and ages welcome.  Rackets provided.


  • Human Rights
    New meeting time – 3.30 -4.30 today in the LRC.  Old and new members welcome.

  • The new Dance and Drama Studio is having the lighting, sound and seating.  All dance classes will take place in the Hydro Hall.  Drama classes timetabled to be in the theatre should come to the studio.

SIXTH FORM

    Young Enterprise will give a presentation to students in Yr 12 assembly on Tuesday this week.  If you are interested in joining the Young Enterprise Group, please attend a meeting in the business department  A22 at break or see Mrs Platt.
