Friday 14th March (Week 2)

NEW NOTICES
  • Year 12 and Year 13 Students - British Schools’ Exploring Society
    If you might be interested in going on a BSES expedition during the summer holidays, come to a talk in the Conference Centre on Thursday 20th March at 1.35. There is financial support available to go on the expedition. Last year we had three students who went on an expedition and had a fantastic time.
    We are hoping that Conrad Dickenson, a local explorer who has been on expeditions to both Poles, might be able to attend the talk.

REMINDERS
  • World Wide Volunteering
    Rosie from World Wide Volunteering is coming into school at lunch time on Friday 14th March. If you would like support using the website or more detailed information on volunteering, please come along at 1:40 to A0. Year 12 and 13 students welcome.
  • Cake Sale
    There is a cake sale today in the Lower School foyer to fundraise for a group of Sixth Form students from Humshaugh Theatre Group to take a play to the Edinburgh Festival this summer. Come along and eat some cake!
  • BTEC Dance Showcase Tuesday 18th & Wednesday 19th March, The Theatre
    Come along and see this exciting show which includes works from musicals, including Chicago and student choreography. Student tickets cost £3 and staff £5. All proceeds will help to pay for 'Poize Dance Company' to take part in this year’s National Youth Dance Festival in London in July. Tickets can be purchased from Mrs Bates in the Hydro office. Come along and show your support.
  • Year 12 General Studies
    The deadline for free withdrawal from the exam is Tuesday 18th March. Students will be charged for withdrawals after that date (this includes not attending the exam) at £37.35. (3 papers x £12.45/paper). Reply slips authorising withdrawal from the exam should be returned directly to Michelle in the 6th form office.
  • Year 13 Photo
    The Year 13 photo is in. There is a copy for you to see on the Sixth Form notice board, outside the Sixth Form office. A proof card and order form was given out for each Year 13 student in tutorial on Monday (10th March). If you would like to order a copy of the photo, then orders need to be returned to your tutor by next Monday (17th).
