Thursday 19th October (Week 1)

NEW NOTICES:

  • SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING. There will be a School Council meeting on Wednesday 1st October i.e. the day you return to school after the holidays – at 3.30 p.m.. This is a really important PLEASE remember it – put the date in your planner now! It will take place in the Conference Centre and will last about an hour. Thanks. Mrs Harris.


  • Fantasy Football. Week One of the Fantasy Football League is over and the leaders are:

         Year 9 - Sam Stephenson (MC) and Jamie Whitely (OW)

         Year 10 - Chris Warren (CK)

         Year 11 - Jonny Lodge (CD)

         Staff - Mr Main

  • The Fair Trade Group is providing a whole day of fair-trade refreshments, including: coffee, tea, chocolate, cakes and much more! Please come along/bring your classes along and support us this Friday 20th October in the Winter Gardens. As QEHS has recently gained ‘Fair Trade Status’ we hope to kick-start the year with a successful event and raise as much money as possible.


  • COMPUTER VOUCHERS. Emma Farrow and Stuart Bell (both Year 10) went to H.M.S. on Friday 13th October to collect the equipment provided by the Tesco’s “Computers for Schools” programme. You collected over 12,000 vouchers which has meant we have three extra digital cameras and some software for MFL. The cameras will be used across the school – watch out for them!


  • NON SCHOOL UNIFORM DAY. There will be a non school uniform day on FRIDAY 20th OCTOBER to support the Chin Up Charity (hospice provision for families and children with progressive terminal illnesses) and to buy books for the Tibetan monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in India. The School Council urges you to give generously (minimum 50p). Thanks.

YEARS 11, 12 & 13

  • CHRISTIAN UNION. CU will meet on Thursday lunchtime in C4 at 1.35pm, during late lunch. All are welcome. Please see Mrs. Dallin or Mrs. Caisley for further details.

SIXTH FORM

  • Rainbow Pets in Hexham are looking for someone to work in the shop on Saturdays and also to provide holiday cover. See Mrs. Cosgrove in the sixth form office if you are interested.
